Performance Reports: 2011-12

112-Day Report

The 51st Tucumcari Bull Test concluded as one of the most successful in recent memory. For a second year in a row, the bulls across the barn continued to meet the performance expectations (112-Day ADG = 3.96 lbs.) of our high roughage based diet backed with Cargill's NutreBeef Limiter feed product. It is evident in visually appraising the bulls and also evaluating the weight and condition measurements that a majority of the bulls across the barn had not plateaued by the end of the test. This simply means the bulls are not over-conditioned and aligns with our philosophy to 'grow them, but not ruin them' while on test.

While the number of bulls in this year's program is down the performance of the bulls through 56 days on test is higher than the bulls enrolled in the 2011 Test. Through 56-Day, the bulls in this year's test are averaging 3.81 pounds of gain per day.
